I'm running the latest version of GWX Gold. Just installed SH3 Commander but have not set it up yet (given it a pathway to SH3 with GWX). I want to have two different GWX set-ups; one with SH3 Commander and one without.
Can I just copy my existing SH3+GWX directory to a new directory (call it GWX+Cmdr) and give that new path to Commander? Note that Multi-SH3 has already created (and the game has used) the SH3+GWX game career folder in My Documents. Do I have to re-run Multi-SH3 from within this new GWX+Commander copy to create a new game GWX+Cmdr career folder in My Documents? Or do I have to make any entirely new installation starting with a virgin copy of SH3, install GWX and Multi-SH3, run Multi-SH3 to create a new game GWX+Cmdr career folder in My Documents, THEN give this path to Commander? Thanks.

If I'm reading your post correctly, you don't need to do anything. I'm new to SH3 with GWX3 and SH3 Commander, but within SH3 Commander I have 'Rollback automatically when you exit SH3' selected. That means that all SH3 Commander files are removed from the game every time I exit it. Therefore, you can run SH3 with GWX3 without any SH3 Commander files present by clicking on your SH3GWX icon instead of the SH3 Commander icon.
Once you have run the game with SH3 Commander though, you won't want another version. ![]() |
