Default upgraded to new hydrophone and lost contacts now

ok. ive been playing oh2. completed eastern british coast and breaking the fortress. started northwestern approaches. upgraded to the 2000 renown hydrophone. now i dont pick up no sound contacts. wtf man. i fight this game more then i play it. anybody have any clues.

THe 360 degree rotating hydrophone is mounted on the deck, not the hull, so you need to dive to get it in the water. Motor a likely area, dive to 25m, stop all engines, sweep...sweep... rinse and repeat.

I usually go to 40m. Anyone know if thats too deep?

30 meters for me and also you need to mod the hydro for better effectivness .. stock hydros suck
look At TDW post .. the dark wraith I will not play sh5 unless its modded otherwise I would have threw it away ..

If you are using REM MOD I think max detection range is 25 meters or deeper.
We decided this depth because there are area's you must patrol where you can not go much deeper.

Originally, I wanted Max Detection Range at depth of 50+ meters.

Wouldn't detection be adversely affected by the thermal layer at that depth?
Are thermal layers modelled in SH5?
