Intro

Hello All,

I'm a dabbler in the Sum Sims worlds. Waaay back I played Red Storm Rising on my Dad's 386 PC and loved it. Further back than that I played 688 Attack Sub on a friend's Sega MegaDrive. More recently but still years ago I got Silent Hunter II and thoroughly enjoyed that, though I enjoy the 3D visuals far too much to consider turning them off. I also (dare I say it) got a couple of sub games (they're certainly not sims) for my Xbox: Battle Stations Midway and Naval Assault: The Killing Tide.

In the last month or so I got a hankering to play a sub sim set in the modern world instead of WWII, remembering my fun times setting waypoints for my Mk48s in Red Storm Rising. It led me to research the modern sub sim, of which Sub Command is currently the ultimate form. So I got myself the Naval Combat Pack, which has 688(I) Hunter Killer, Fleet Command, and Sub Command, the latter of which I am currently learning its tutorials.

The 3D models for SC, while nice, are somewhat lacking. So, in the tradition of my StarFleet Command days, I came online to search for some shiny new community models to replace them with, without knowing if this game is even modable.

That's my sub simming in a nutshell. Anyone care to direct me to the models forum?

Andy
