Not sure if this is the correct place for this but. . .

The "flags" that pop up giving the first lines of a post as I scroll over the list?

They irritate me more than a poke in the eye with a rotten carrot. Is there some way I can switch them off? I've looked in the user options and can't find anything obvious.

Not as far as I am aware but you could PM Neal Stevens and ask.
