Default a possible bug?

On my last patrol I got orders (at the start of the patrol) that said my new base was St Nazaire (from Trondheim) which was no problem. I did my patrol and headed there but got hammered pretty badly (Jan/Feb '45) I have a schnorkel but found after the last run in with the escorts I was reduced to 4 knots on the surface at ahead 1/3. However, submerged with the use of snorkel I could make 6 knots.

I docked at St. Nazaire (and because I have dial up I've not yet got GWX3 and am only using GWX2.0) I spent the mandatory 30 days in port. I sailed again in a repaired ship but the problem persists. Don't know if it makes a difference but my boat is a IXB and she's on her 7th patrol. I also use SH3 Commander.

This close to the end of the war (I started in mid-43) I'll live with it - unless there is an easy, no mess, no fuss solution - and see out the patrol if only for two reasons:
a) never been at see in May '45 and want to see what happens - DON'T ANYONE SPOIL IT!!!!!
b) it's six weeks game time till I get to go home to the proverbial wife and three kids and I want to see if I can get there without loosing the current game

UPDATE: it's now 29.03.45 and top speed surfaced is 5 knots (flank speed) and 1/3 is 3 knots. Submerged with schnorkel is double that on both counts....

If this was my boat, I'd be to the nearest dock yard to figure out WTF is going on!

If it was GWX3.0 I would be pointing to SH3 cmd malfunction option probably.

However on this occasion I'm simply not sure, how come this happens.

I would say being sent to St. Nazaire at that time in the war is a problem.

Can't help with your current situation, but good luck!

Where abouts are you? I'm sure a member will be more than willing to post you a copy of GWX3 on a disc.

What I find odd is the part where the boat is faster submerged with a snorkel than it is surfaced. In both cases it's running off of the same diesels.

SH3 Commander is not tied to GWX. It works with any mod, or alone.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Midnight just as the clocks change to April 1 in AM79 I get a CTD. I reload from the last save (about five game hours prior to this), same thing. I reload again and steer a new heading, same thing. I reload and go to 11:50 then sit on the bridge and watch out for possible U-196 hating objects that are lurking out there that may overload my system and cause the CTD - nothing.

It's not without evident irony I say this, but I swear I'm not meant to survive to the end of the war!
