Default oops!

Hi folks, have looked in vain on the E&T website for an electronic copy of a current article I wanted to wave under your noses, and which appears in this months hard copy of the magazine. It is to do with a certain U-Boat kapitan who needed to go to the loo while the sub ( Type VIIC U-1206) was submerged - and succeeded in sinking the boat when he 'pulled the chain'. I found it an interesting and funny account, though Kapitan Karl-Adolph Schlitte may not have seen the humour. Do you know anything about this event please? Justin Pollard, who wrote about this event in the mag has a Facebook page also mentioning it from a previous article written in 2008

Sounds hilarious. I guess it's one of those 'only pull in case of emergency' deals.

Oh WOW!! This is funny! You can't make up stories like this.

Schlitt: Maintain course and speed LI, I have to go to the head.

LI: Jahwol

Technician: Herr Kaleun! You need the new technical manual for the waste flush system!

*hands manual to Schlitt*

Schlitt: Danke. I needed paper, anyway.

*door slams and papers rip*

Technician(shocked): Sir?!!!

*door opens unceremoniously*

Schlitt: You know how to operate that thing, sailor. Take care of it for me, will you? The Tommies are out and about.

Technician has meltdown and turns wrong valve.

LI: We have a chlorine gas alarm!

*Sad Trombone plays in background*

I couldn't resist being a jerk on this one. Imagine the looks on the faces of everyone when he had to explain how he lost the boat!

It is the goal of every captain to sink as much tonnage as possible.

Here lies the wreckage of our little boat
That, thanks to our captain, will never more float.
We asked him to hold it, but he just said, 'Nix!'
So here lies the wreckage of U-Twelve-Oh-Six.
We asked him to wait, for there was a rule
To follow when dropping kids off at the pool.
We told him to call the LI for the flush,
But our brave commander was in such a rush!
And that's how we lost such a fine little boat
That, thanks to our captain, will never more float.
Yes, thanks to our kommandant, Karl-Adolph Schlitt,
Who sank our good vessel by taking a... dump.
