Default SH3Contacts1.1 MOD

..i have seen a few of you have this mod from the previous 'whats your mod' list thread. ive had a look at this mod and am very interested to use it. BUT, i dont know how to install it. there does not appear to be an install readme. AND i am unsure of how to use it.

because i have limited time to play i would like to up the amount of vessels i can find - but not too much. ive had a go with spysat but thats a game killer for me. bit like shooting cars in a car park!

so if any of you kaleuns has it and could show me how to set it up i would be very grateful

many thanks

It's an external tool like SH3 Commander or SH3 Weather. Open the zipped folder and move the installer to your desktop, then double-click and follow the instructions. Further information is in the readme.

...thanks SS for the quick feed back. im trying it now, but i have no idea what the numbers 'may' represent.
plus can it be activated whilst at sea or like Commander its best left untill in-port. does it affect game stability or is there likelyhood of CTD's. the readme is not very forthgiving, and which is the correct folder to install it into - how do you find it?

cheers

If its an installer package, it should suggest it when you run the installer. You can place the zipped installer anywhere. I haven't used it, I'm just basing this on common practice based in ss comments.

I thought they were pretty obvious, but I could be wrong. It gives the percentage of each type that will be reported, the percentage probablility that you will actually get the report and the minimum and maximum possible time between reports. I keep all probablilities set very low as it represents my belief that they didn't come often.

I have it installed to the desktop. It's my understanding that it finds and contacts SH3 all on its own. Does it work? I have no idea, but I don't get many contact reports. I haven't bothered upping the parameters to see if I get more, because I'm happy the way things are now.

It is an external program and can probably be run at any time, but not knowing for sure I would advise waiting until you're between patrols.

Tis a standalone programme and works as explained above by reading your SH3 exe file....you can also tweak the percentages regarding accuracy and timing.
