Default Initial Reactions from a new SH5 convert

Having played SH3 for a number of years and having read so much negativity about SH5, including the unacceptable need, until recently, to have to be connected to the internet, I delayed my purchase until a sale last week at Get Games finally hauled me in.

I think I'm glad I waited, because the mods on here make for such a better game than the vanilla experience. I have to congratulate the modders on here - your work is almost breathtaking in its scope and depth, I am in awe.

But I still feel even the basic game has some strong points. There is just something very immersive about it all.

Fortunately I have a reasonably strong modern PC and it runs so smoothly for me.

Whereas even a GWX'd SH3 is inevitably showing its age, one has to conclude that there is so much more to come from SH5, given the likely developments we will see from the modding community.

Just wanted to say that I'm very excited to be on board with such a positive community.
