Default promotion bug

I have noticed that after I get promoted to Kapitanleutnant and I purchase a new sub and it brings my renown level below the level of eligibility for promotion to Kapitanleutnant when I get back from my patrol in my new sub it states I've been promoted to Oberleutnant z.S. Why dose this happen and how can I fix it?

It's because you used some of your renown "points" to buy the new boat, and by doing so your total renown dropped below the level required for the higher rank. You didn't earn enough renown on your patrol to make up enough of the loss, so the game "demoted" you back to the lower rank since your current renown no longer qualifies you to be anything higher than an Oberleutnant.

There are ways around this, once the patrol ends and you're out of the game you can go into your career files and edit your Delta Renown back up so that you get your rank back. Or you can edit the game files so that it costs you less, or even nothing, to upgrade your boat/equipment. Others will know the exact places to go to do both of those things, I don't have access to my game files on this computer so we'll have to see who else pops up with more precise info.

The easiest way for you would be to adjust the DeltaRenown I suspect...this is usually found C\MyDocs\SH3\Careers\career name\Patrols_0 cfg file near the bottom
