Default Does the Band Play forever?

I started the great Gray Wolves set of missions and love all the additions they made..but i have a question that may sound very strange but...

Does the band on the dockside keep playing all the time we are out on patrol? even tho they are digital virtual people, i feel bad that they may have to go on playing for hours and hours and even days...all the time i am out and what happens if my boat get...God and Fatherland forbit, sunken?

And those pretty nurses need to be back in the base hospital too, even tho it is very nice for this old sailor man to see such a lovey group to send us off....

I doubt anyone else may have ever wondered about this, but I thought i better ask....

It's like the light inside the refrigerator - does it turn off when you close the door?

The band and the people are always there, but in my many explorations of the harbors I've discovered that there is a trigger for the music itself. When you get far enough away that you can't hear the music, use the external ship view or F12 to navigate back to a point close to the pier. When you are close enough the band will start the song from the beginning.

Ahoy Sailor Steve, thank you for the reply to what may seem my sillyness question but it bothered me.... but i wont worry too much. I will assume they are enjoying the fresh sea breeze dockside...and it is a very nice touch, i was really moved by it the first time i saw it. Not always did this happen, and later on in the war almost never...but i know it meant a lot to the crews when it was possible....there was much pride among the boats.

I always wanted the band to play 'the Clash and should I stay or should I go'
A fitting theme...

Truly the most dedicated group of musicians ever. Funny though it may be, they don't seem to have any other engagements, so play on chaps, play on!

The band do play forever in as much as whilst they are in rendering range...once outside said range everything beyond it, land masses etc. cease to exist.

The reason you can't hear the music after a certain distance is because the sound settings for external noises are set by the game engine at supposed realistic ambience levels.

They did have another engagement on the Bismark.
But it did not go well.
