Default Need help identifying RN warships at Devonport, May 1998

When I was on vacation in the UK in 1998 I took a series of shots from a tour boat in Plymouth harbour. The guide didn't give out any ship's names and I wasn't in a position to write them down anyway. I was wondering if anyone could help me ID these ships either in class or name so I can mark the photographs. My knowledge of modern warships is rather pathetic. All help will be appreciated.

Here we have a prehistoric pre-digital photograph complete with ugly red light leak or developer screw-up...I'm not sure.

Type23 'Duke' class maybe?

Trafalgar or Swiftsure class submarine? I'm not sure.

I think the hull number is A138.

I'm guessing Broadsword class frigate on this one, although the forward turret seems to be missing.

And if anyone can tell me what the name of this odd-looking sculpture is, not too far from the Mayflower Steps, that's be good too.

Please Comrade. I must get this 13 year old information to the desk of President Boris Yeltsin. Even if he is dead.

Thank you gimpy!

So one Hecla class ocean survey vessel scrapped, and a Broadsword frigate sold to Chile. Plus a Type 22 expended as a target

Does Britain still have a navy?

Photo 1: F332 is the Corte-Real, Vasco da Gama class frigate, Portuguese Navy
Photo 2: F235 (left) is HMS Monmouth, Type 23, as you said.
Photo 5: F96 is HMS Sheffield, Type 22 frigate

ha ha yeah, at this rate we'll be making a historical novel, not a recognition manual

HMS Sheffield F96 (the original intention was to name her Bruiser) was named after the Type 42 of the same name that was sunk at the Falklands.

She was paid off in 2002 and sold to Chile who renamed her ALMIRANTE WILLIAMS.

You probably are already aware of that though
