Default problem with changing wav file

Hi all hope someone can help me out

I'm trying to change a wav file in this case Submarine_GQ_battle_stations_INT.wav

I downloaded another wav file renamed it too match it and overwrite.

I then restart the game and when i go to battlestations there is no sound.

Any idea how i can make it work?

Changing the file from Stereo to Moneo might do the trick.

Also double-check to make sure you didn't make a tiny error in the title. The best way to make sure the first time is to right-click the original file and click 'Rename', then copy the title. Then just add a space and 'Orig' to the end. Then paste the name to the new file.

If it overwrote the file named should've matched. What's the file anyway?
Do you still get the same BS file as before or what? Need to match the bit rate and file length as close as possible.

True, and my mistake. I missed the part about overwriting.

Hi guys,
The sound files dont nessearly have to be the same size as in lenght, unless your redoing the speech files their it can be a little diecy. The sound files can be in wav or mp3 format, stereo or mono as long as you stick with orginal Hz like 44100 or something like that, you can mix stereo with mono, I've even gotten Ogg sound files to play. The thing about sound files is that you dont want them to be really long, as this my cause a looping effict, like a sound running in the back ground, but only running part of the sound, a short loop effect.
I redid some sound files and put them up for down load. Hope this helps! Indy

Default Shell noise in the air

Has anyone had any luck changing the "Shell noise in the air" files? I've tried several times, but haven't had any luck. I'm trying to create something like I had in my old Destroyer Command mods, but nothing seems to work. What I'm talking about here is the sound you hear from the old movie Sink the Bismarck, when the heavy shells are passing through the air before they hit the water or a target.

Thanks for any info.

Are you talking about where the shell whistles while it is in the air?

And I see your a fan of the movie "In Harms Way". Great John Wayne movie. The Roc is definitely an office I want to serve under.

Yes, that's the sound I'm talking about. I couldn't believe how bad the stock game sound is, I mean where did these people get their sound effects!!! Anyway I've been trying to fix it for awhile. And yes I have been a big fan of In Harm's Way since I first saw it back in, what was it 1965 or 1966. Was one of the reasons I joined the U.S. Navy in 1971 for four years. As an interesting side note, I managed to find the original novel the movie was based on at the base library while I was stationed at Key West in 74. And the movie followed the book almost to the letter!
