What is JAGME?
Hi, everyone...
I bought Silent Hunter 4 late last year and had not really gotten into it until a few days ago. I found this SH site and it is awsome! There are a lot of really cool updates and mods that will make the game for me even better than it already is. I already started downloading some of the files I think will enhance my playing experience but I have NO CLUE what to do with them once I download and save them to my hard drive. For example, what is JAGME??? I mean, I read in some of the file descriptions that the files are JAGME ready and I have no clue what they are talking about. Can anybody help? And howdo I incorporate the files (mods) into the game? By the way, as I said, I have the original game CD bought from Ubisoft so I have the stock game but I have no idea if it is Version 1.4 or 1.5. Could not find it anywhere in the game documentation. Can anybody help? Salsero526 |

Hello and welcome
![]() JSGME stands for JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler which, as the name suggests, is a modmanager/installer. (You REALLY want to use it!!) Read this thread for all you need to know about it: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=173324 NOTE: The download link on top of the first page in that thread doesn't work, but you can get JSGME from this site: http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products-jsgme.html |

WARNING !!! salsero526 Alot of the later mods are for SH4 -UBM 1.5 and won't work with SH4 1.4
UBM stands for : U-Boat Missions. Finding it as a payfor separate download might be hard to find. Sorry to say you, can buy the whole SH4-UBM 1.5 cheap, at Amazon.com I found the add-on for $9.99 : http://www.amazon.com/Silent-Hunter-...3100913&sr=1-1 ![]() This is boxed version too! JSGME - as Dowly says, you really do need it. It stops you getting conflicting modded files, and makes adding and removing mods as painless as it can be. You can of course still cock it up, but much less so using this. The links he provided will help more than I ever could.
Welcome aboard. ![]()
