Default ---EAM---Fuel tanks leaking???

Hiya sailors!!!

So, when the battle of Gilberts is about to begin, I'm in a Balao (well, THE BALAO ) and I get orders to mobilize for a TF (US)... Anyways, during the patrol, my boat suffered extensive damage by spamming TC and bumping into aircrafts, which, thankfully, get shot down after wracking my boat... Anyways, no system destroyed, damages repairable, but one:

When I'm 21% fuel, 1300 km from Tulagi, and I do reach and refit, the fuel is topped off once I press ok but the battery is not full, and once I switch to diesel tab, I get the 100 to 85 in like 4 seconds. Reminder: I'm moored.

Is the damage that extensive to the fuel tanks? I mean we got a bug!...

I can record video on fraps and upload to youtube if you prefer, but let me check one thing first:

Is this modelled in game? the leak? I mean if you're hit directly, the boat vibrates, and the view oscillates, but the fuel drops sharply, but never decreases in plain sight like gradually, yeah?

Anybd had this before? I'm considering rtb since the fuel at tulagi never exceeds 85% and I cant risk having extra blows to the boat. My motto for this stand-off: Live to fight another day.

---EAM OUT---

AFAIK the game engine does not model leaking fuel..

But I agree with you, bug out and repair at Pearl

I'm not sure that I'm fully understanding your description of the damage but, perhaps the damage to your fuel tanks is such that they cannot be filled beyond 85%. That means, a trip to HP is in order for more thorough repairs.

I do know damage can cause fuel loss as Duci sometimes adjust it in between TMO versions. Not sure if that's stock poor way of doing it for you or some bug.

Back to base after a worrisome CTD..

Now I'm employing what's called combat mix.

16 forward torpedoes
- Mk23 x2 loaded, x2 reserves
- Mk14 x2 loaded, x6 reserves
- Mk10 x1 loaded, x2 reserves
- Mk18 x1 loaded, no reserves

8 aft torpedoes
- Mk14 x4 loaded, x4 reserves

I wonder if moving unfired previous patrol torpedoes from fore to aft or vice versa, would have any impact on the magnetic detonator.. As I understand, O'kane ordered the 18s specifically aft...

Everytime I got a fuel problem due to damage, I plain and simple lost a bunch of fuel all at once. Also, it would appear that you loose fuel in 25% installments!

The game isn't that complex. Each type torpedo has it's own values giving a precentage of failure rates. You could move and switch them all around as much as you want, the values will remain the same.
They're other values that increase hits, state of water, speed of torp, angle of torp, etc..but best used early war. After 43 the failure rate values drop greatly, but you'll still have them
