Gentlemen,
I'm teetering on the brink of buying Sub Hunter 5. It looks absolutely fascinating! Prior to doing so I wonder if anyone might post the computer specs which would allow me to use SH5 with most "sliders" full, or close to full, open and with a good, nonstuttering, frame rate. .....or if you're happy with your current performance you might just post your current specs here. Fair winds, starry skies, and smooth seas, Quink |

Minimum System Requirements:
OS: Windows XP (with SP3), Vista (with SP2) or Windows 7 CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E4400 / AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ RAM: 1 GB (WinXP), 2 GB (Vista, Win7) Graphics Card: 256 MB DirectX 9.0c-Compatible (Nvidia 8800 GT / ATI HD 2600) Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c-Compatible HDD: 10 GB Recommended System Requirements: CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 / AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ or higher RAM: 2 GB (WinXP, Vista, Win7) Graphics Card: 512 MB DirectX 9.0c-Compatible (Nvidia GTS 250 / ATI HD 4670) HDD: 15 GB As you can see it doesn't require a super computer to run it. However, don't ever bother with minimum requirements if you want to play a game, that's both enjoyable and fps acceptable. Always go for recommended. Another thing is to try this website: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ it will online scan your system and suggest yay or nay. I've got 2 rigs that i've run SH 5 with, main rig: i7, 12GB RAM, ATI HD 6990, 1000W PSU and as you can imagine, full throttle on this game. My 2nd rig has i3, 4GB RAM, GTX570 and 750W PSU, once again, full steam ahead with this game. Post your specs, Kaleun, let's have a look. |

Core2Duo E7300 2.66, 2Gb RAM, nVidia GTS 450, Windows 7 x64 (yeah, really a budget machine).
Playing with all sliders maxed out, only AA is overridden in nVidia Control Panel (in-game AA settings don't seem to work). All good, except for the occasional lag when I forget to close some apps prior to launching the game (read: probably need more RAM). Seems that devs rested on cheap beauty though: GPU goes really high even inside the sub. So much for spending 90 percent of the time on the map, and the rest 10 percent - seeing a very limited area which is most probably 90 percent water ![]() |

Thanks to all for your fast and most helpful responses! All are most appreciated.
Of particular help was the website offered by Feuer Frei! which will check your system to see if it meets the minimum specs and the recommend specs for a particular game. I found I meet all the minimum specs required and all but one of the recommended specs. Based on those specs I would need to upgrade my cpu. The site, should you wish to check your computer's compatibility with most any given game, again, from Feuer Frei! is; http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ To Sparda who asked for "a bit more information, my specs at present are; Operating System MS Windows XP Professional 32-bit SP3 CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00GHz 43 °C Wolfdale 45nm Technology RAM 4.0GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 400MHz (5-5-5-18) Motherboard Dell Inc 0PP150 (Socket 775) 50 °C Graphics VG910s (1280x960@60Hz) 512MB GeForce 8800 GT (nVidia) 63 °C Hard Drives 488GB Western Digital WDC WD50 00AAKS-75A7B SCSI Disk Device (SCSI) 31 °C Optical Drives PBDS CDRWDVD DH-48C2S SCSI CdRom Device PLDS DVD+-RW DH-16A6S SCSI CdRom Device Audio USB Audio Device I hope to join you as soon as I can upgrade a couple of items and download Sub Hunter 5. Thanks so much, Quink |

Looking at the specs you posted it isnt a bad machine.
weather you can run the game with everything turned up I'm not sure. I would say if your budget is tight I would probably just look at upgrading your graphics card. |

Comparing your specs to mine I can tell that maybe you'd need a better GPU at most
![]() Better get DVD. AFAIK, you may have trouble using mods with Steam version. |
