How you doing Clay ol' buddy.

Just a few things you no doubt know but just a reminder.

Put the game in a separate game folder, not programs files.
Run as administrator.
Right after install shut the computer down and restart.
You're using SH4.exe so that is OK.

I think the "Exception Code: c0000005" usually has something to do with your sound drivers. It may also involve bad RAM but I don't recall. Try updating your sound drivers and see if that helps, also check your RAM. Hmmm, while you're at it, you may as well update your graphics drivers too.

I've done a little research on that exception code through Google. It seems there are a number of reasons why this might occur which are dependent upon the circumstances of it's occurrence. However, most of the incidents I came across in various tech forums mentioned a resource conflict of some type.

Have you made any recent hardware/software changes to your PC (new sound drivers, etc.) prior to this happening?

let me guess, you had it before, and it's a steam version?

this happened to me 4 days ago, and I removed the game, reinstalled, and it worked back just fine.

try doing as such and update us.

Hey Clay,
I know this is late in coming but I solved the big Win 7 problem but simply doing the compatibility change in the icon properties box. You may have done it already anyway but I thought I would mention it. My fix worked by changing the compatibility to Vista. If you ever want to go back and give Win 7 a try again you might try this.
Glad to see you're up and running anyway.

Hey Clayp glad that gold version made it

Could the conflict be that update exe thing where you have to repoint your exe away from trying to connect to the net for updates and point it towards the sh4 exe itself. Hope that makes sense
