The face of a 14-year old kid. At first I thought she was in her mid-twenties. Read the caption. That's some heavy loss there.

Interesting shots the one with the mortar crew you can see the mortar coming out the tube.

Number 13 she set herself on fire makes feel glad you live in a first world country things have to be
really bad to make you feel like something like that is your only option.

If you look around on the web you can find shots of other large bore weapons from the right point of view and see the shell in the same point of not far from the muzzle.I have a friend a former Marine artilleryman he has a picture in his living room of himself and his gun crew that someone took from directly behind as he is lulling the lanyard and you can see the 155 shell about one foot out of the muzzle. like this somewhat: http://www.superstock.com/stock-phot...s/4029R-382982

You can find it for free as well they want $99.00 for it.
Saw the same pic in an image search using slightly different wording.

There is a book by the late Tim Hetherington called "Infidel" with photos that he took with the 173rd while working with Sebastian Younger while they where filming the doc "Restrepo".It has a lot of good photos in it you'll have to buy that book though you wont find many of the photos online.

Yea that shot makes me angry, so shes a paraplegic, she will never be married as no man in her village will want her she is useless to them, she can't bear children she will most likely be outcast by her village or in extreme cases be murdered by the village men. If I could I would bring that girl to New Zealand give her the best care we have to offer so she can at least have a 2nd chance at life. And over here we have woman who b*tch when they are not a having a good hair day they should go spend a few years in tali ban territory then they will have something to b*tch about!
