ingame isseus and questions

Hi all

I'm fairly new to Silent Hunter 5 or any subsim in that matter but I wanted to try some game out that was off a totally diffirent genre then the games I usually play.

so I got some newb questions concerning the game I hope you guys can help out with .

1. You know everytime you do an action on the sub your XO or whoever says that out load (like changing speed, switching tubes, changing depth, etc). Well, I don't have that anymore. I dunno if I pressed some button to toggle that off or something but anyways it doesn't work anymore and I want it back on.

2. How come I can't repair my sub?. I ask the chief engineer to repair it but then he replies with "can't do that right now sir" and a timer of 8h starts. After those 8h I ask again and he replies just the same over and over again.

3. Why doesn't resupply work and if it does how does it actually work? Just as in repairing, everytime I ask the radioman for resupply he replies with "captain, they denied our resupply". Also if it does work is it just like refit?


That's about it concerning my questions, hope you can help me out.

1 - IIRC if your at "silent running" they stop repeating orders

2 - if your at "silent running" they wont repair anything or reload torpedos

3 - you can only make repairs if they are your home port otherwise you only get minor damage fixed, as for refusing you they must have changed sides at that time anyway resupply is just rearming and refueling thats it

resupply is only available in operation drumbeat off the american coast.

Every other time you have to go to port.
