Default Hex editing .j3d files

Any one try it? I need to remove some polygons from a .j3d file but I can't convert it back to a .3ds file so I want to try hex editing the file. However every time I try to remove something from the file by hex editing DW CTDs.

PM Privateer, he certainly cuts the mustard in that department.

Hey TLAM Strike.

Send the file to me and I will have a look at it for you.

I've got some of the format figured out now.
I'll see where it leads as I play with the files.

I'd say it would not be much work to create an exporter that would extract the 3D objects.
I have pretty much figured out what I need to know to do that.
If there's interest in haveing something like this let me know.

I'm still playing with the files to see what more I can do with them.

I think I now have enuff information to try removeing or adding a few things.
I'll write a template in 010 Editor first to show the needed information.
Then I'll work on a Script to first export the 3D information.
