Default At last! what's next

Ok kind of patting myself on the back here but after following tutorial after tutorial regardng manual TDC I have at last managed to hit ships consistently without having to wimp out to the auto TDC. Hoorah! Not important just needed to get that out.

However I am using stock SHIV, I have added a number of upgrades more cosmetic and some functional.

The question is (I am confused at this point) what is the recommended upgrade from here. I know there are 2 Mod upgrades TMO and errrrm the other one (Realboat?), which of these should I follow?

Can I follow both?

What versions are they at and do i have to go through a series of installs or can I just install the latest?

I have been looking at the Subsowespac site (PTC) which appears to be a bit of a club as well... is there still something like this available? I know I am rather late to the game with regards SHIV but I live in hope.

Having reached this level of realism I would really like to move into a more involved level.

In the meantime.... I will just enjoy the 1940's music on the radio.

Thanks for reading.

Richard

@cmd.griphin

The other mega-mod you are thinking of is RFB (Real Fleet Boat). You can play both RFB and TMO, but not at the same time.

RFB 2.0 is the latest and has 1 patch that you should add.
Many also play RSRDC, which changes shipping traffic to historical patterns. There is a specific version for RFB. Others can tell you more about TMO and GFO, etc.

Welcome to the boat mate.
Congrats on getting to the point of upgrading your game.

I play TMO 2.1 and really enjoy it. The DD's are a bit tougher than stock but you can handle them with a little practice, be prepared to get sunk a few times. Much better game play than stock but can be intimidating at first.

FOTRS is a good step up from stock and might be a good transition to TMO.

RSRD is much more realistic shipping and Task Forces but you have to know where to find stuff so study historical events as they are all in there.

With JSGME you can switch between mods fairly easily so you can see what tickles your fancy.

Good luck and good hunting

Magic

Haven't played the game in quite some time, but your enthusiasm made me remember what I love about this game. Time to re-install I think.
