Default ALAAARM (Noob overboard)

Hi all,

I'll start by saying thanks for the forums and the vast amounts of help and information within. If it wasn't for you wolves of the deep, I wouldn't be here at all .

I play (term used loosely) a few games, and SH5 is the newest in the bunch. I was warned against it ("Silent Loader 5" and "Silent Beta 5" were the nicer phrases), and told to get SH4 ("the best of the lot"), but like so many things, avoided listening to reason. Decent graphics, trigonometry, AND a report of "splashes!" from sonar = sold! Ok, it's been 20 years since trig, and I can't remember what I used a protractor for except punching holes in foolscap. Still, it has a co-op multi, and is a good reason to relearn trig, so a couple of us picked it up.

We sucked... at first. We suck (slightly ) less now thanks to you guys and TDW's mod (the only one we have running at the moment). If it wasn't for your videos, threads, and helpful hints and tutorials I would've had to tell the crew to abandon and scuttle the damned thing.

Anyway, we are still learning to shoot manually, set up good shots, and hit on the run. LOTS of work to do, but when it goes right it's awesome and satisfying! We are enjoying it much more after TDWs mod made a lot more things accessible, that's for sure. Great stuff!

I'm a far bigger reader than poster, but before I went to silent running I wanted to say hi.

Cheers!
