When you consider prairie dogs carry the bubonic plague, killing them isn't always a bad thing.

It is generally held that the most infamous and devastating outbreak of bubonic plague was the Black Death, which killed a third of the population of Europe in the 14th century.

Wow... that first video sure demonstrated a few things for me:

1. Improper stance = pain.
2. Overconfidence = pain.
3. Failing to properly seat the butt of the rifle = pain, potentially to others as well as yourself.
4. Some firearms were meant to be fired from the prone position.
5. Overcompensating for something else lacking can be lulzworthy.

At first glance that .577 round looked like a 40 mm short.

I don't think there is any way to properly prepare for a round that large. thats legally a cannon is it not?

Years ago, I read an article about a hunter who had built a very rifle for hunting large african game. I don't remember the caliber, but it fired a one pound projectile which contained a charge of black powder. Shooting it, was said to have spun the operator around and produced a nosebleed. Apparently, it was little used, for not only was it painful to shoot, but it did not seem to be especially effective in producing clean kills. Bigger is not always better. Personally, while I like to read about (and possibly shoot), exotic firearms, I tend to prefer more practical ones.

.223 Remington (5.56mm NATO) is not as effective as a .308 Winchester (7.76 mm NATO) round, in any enviroment.

.308 Winchester will take a leg.....223 Remington will take a lung.

I remember the first time I shot an 8 gauge shotgun. As a matter of fact, it was the first time I ever shot a shotgun.

I left a tiny space between my shoulder and the stock. A mistake one makes once.

Dunno about legality making something a cannon or not, but I'd take my chances firing that from the prone position.

Got to fire one of those as a young boy scout. The instructor had the other 3 guys who werent firing prop the guy who was.
