Default Lit up units at night

never before seen this, but during my patrol, I was off northern spain somwhere on my way home I discovered a small 4 unit convoy, consisting of medium cargo's and a large tanker. It was night and they were showing navigation lights.

I am guessing if they are showing light's, then it means in GWX that they are friendly/neautral units and that I should not attack these?

Indeed, or risk a corresponding loss of renown...

You have the flag pull-down. Use it.

What is the "flag pull down"?

At the Navigation station, when you are looking down at the map on the chart table... in the upper left hand corner of the GUI are several tabs which are actually the corners of additional charts you can pull down and look at.

One of them is a pictorial of all the flags of the countries in the game, with their names and dates of Axis/Allied/neutral affiliation.

This is in GWX mind you, I don't remember if it was there in stock but surely there was something like it.

Yeap, you're right! Also, in GWX, you can use the F1 key and lok for the Enemies of Germany...
Thanls a lot!

No problem!

And don't even ask me how many hours of playing time I put in before I found all the pull-down stuff in that screen.

About as much as the rest of us, I'd imagine. I know it's there, but I still pull down the opposite one to what I want, every time!

I seem to have lost my flag pull-down. Don't know where it went. I've got a minefield, and a convoy map, and something else, but my flag sheet went away.

Anyway, if a ship has lights on, it is 100% always friendly/neutral. Now you may have a darkened ship that is also friendly/neutral, but if lights are on, it is always friendly/neutral. Never shoot ships with lights on.

It's not in the Nav station, it's in the periscope/UZO screens, so you can look at it while looking at the target ship.

As for your "lit/unlit" comparison, that's exactly what I was going to say. You not only stole my name, but my words as well.

D'oh! Steve's right, of course.

I guess I'm gonna have to get better at remembering where it is since I'm turning Contact Color off.

I can tell ya how long it took me to find the flag pull down, as well as all of the handy-dandy navigation pull downs.

As long as it took me to RTFM before I fired up GWX for the first time.

Given the size of TFM in this case that could be a very long time indeed.

Took me abouts a week to read it, off and on. A lot of the tech details can be skimmed.
