Chavez receives press freedom award!
![]() Chavez told a crowd of students that Venezuela was promoting "a new dynamic of communication and information free from the media dictatorship of the bourgeoisie and the empire" - the term he uses to refer to the US. The World is a cruel and cynical place... ![]() |

And I thought the propoganda out of china and North Korea was bad.... Water reserves? Ok I know I live right next to one of the largest fresh water systems on the planet, so we really don't have that problem, but cmon. If the societies involved want to actually fund them, there are many cheap and renewable sources of desalinization. I remember a solar powered one that was supposed to go up in Dubai that used solar power to pump water up into a tower, then the heat from the sun would evaporate and desalinize the water, and then gravity would return it to the city level. The science of 'cheap' desalinization is easy, it's getting the startup and construction costs nobody likes. |
