Default Dumb question probably...

I've been tinkering with SH5 for about a week now, like the game but can't figure some things out, found out about the stadimeter bug and the fix for that but whenever I try to pick a certain depth, like 100 feet or something semi-deep like that, the boat wont stop sinking It keeps going and I've died due to depth more times than I'd like to because it kept going below the depth I ordered :P only thing I've noticed that stops the sinking is raising my speed, but then it starts to submerge instead... is this working as intended? should I hold a certain speed to stay at a certain depth or something?

I hope this stupid question will get an answer, preferably not a mean one
