Hi all,
Am new here and have been looking around a bit prior to registering to see whether I might be able to find a solution to my problem but so far, not a bean. I have recently reinstalled the game and thought I'd upgrade to TDW's Magnus Opus Mod which so far is looking very promising and I hope that it gives SH5 a new lease of life with me. However I have one rather annoying issue which I can't seem to remedy. At the start of each mission the crew are out on the conning tower, hogging the limelight as we leave harbour. But after each and evey dive the slovenly work shy layabouts refuse to return to the bridge and because of this, on a number of occasions, I have literally been seconds from ramming a rather confused but annoyingly forewarned British merchantman due to the fact that there's no one upstairs to warn of the impending collision. I don't even get a ship spotted message bar update. This is all rather frustrating. It is most annoying when you ramp the game speed up to tackle the huge distances, only to lose the element of surprise because no one is on watch looking out for the enemy! Has anyone else had this problem? I found one other thread with the same issue but it was never resolved. Please shed some light fellow submariners! Cheers |

very weird. Have you tried sending men to battlestations, or deck/flak gun? There is a button from the watch officer that has a picture of a conning tower, click that and you have 4 more buttons, one for deck gun, one for flack gun, one to man both deck/flak, and finally one to return men to watch.
Try clicking those, and see if you get men to shuffle topside of your boat. Failing that, It may be an odd glitch with surfacing/diving/alt-tabbing. Ive experienced weirder while combining them. |

In the Magnum Opus Mod, my TC is set to "travel" by default - which has caused me to see the behavior you're posting. Make sure when you load that you click it off.

This problem has been corrected, in my games, by saving and then reloading the game.
I didn't know, until now, if the problem was just a visual effect. I thought that ship sightings would be as usual. I guess I'm just lucky it always happened when nobody was around. ![]()
