Default A question Makmann

A question Makman.
I would like to know what "RGB Profile" you use in the "Color Management" of your graphics software?
Why is that?:
When I make a graphic window, eg "UZO.TGA" I find myself with an image of 4081 K. A comparison with your Uzo, who is only 1827 KB
Or is the error?
Yours.
Claude.
Excuse the mistake of title

hello Claude,

i am not sure that i understand your question mate !

AFAIK , the size of the image is determined by the settings in the graphic program that you are using and the type of it (.tga , .png....etc)
i don't know if this will help you to your question but i am using paint.net (with an ''army'' of plugs-in) and the settings for .tga images that i am using are bit depth = 32 bit and compress = enabled ( the last setting --the 'compress'-- is the setting that reduce the size of image on disc almost to the half)

Manos

Makman thank you for your reply.
I'm looking right now a way to reduce the file size. (To give more fluidity to the whole).
I compared closely your "UZO.TGA" (1360x768, 32 bit) with mine.
We reach the same end result: memory size = 10.6 MB
Compressed files do take up less space on the HDD, but once the game started, they decompress and return to their original size in memory.
To save some memory, you can pass in 24-bit files with no transparency.
Excuse me for taking your time with chicanery.
Yours.
Claude.
