Minor thing, but sometimes it pops up in threads...
What exactly i "DiD style' - I'm showing my newbishness here but I'm sure there are others who are equally confused in this? EDIT: sorry for the title typo- rush job as I just sighted a 5,000 tonner and I can finally break out the deck gun after 3 days of storms!

DID = Dead is Dead.
In other words, if you "die" during your career, you abandon it and start a new one, rather than starting from your last saved game. I always have a DID career in progress, but also some "throwaway" careers for training purposes.
