Default Weirdism

Has anyone noticed that when looking through one of the periscopes at the other(assuming both are raised)or at the lookouts in the conning tower, they roll with the submarine but the periscope being used doesn't? It's as if the periscopes are not on the same vessel.

I believe thats because the "realistic roll" or whatever option it is isnt checked. When it is, your periscope rolls with the waves and shifts making it much harder to target things.

Stabilize camera option is on in realism screen.

Ah.

Incidently, does anyone know what the square blocks with small black squares at the centre of them around the front of the conning tower on mid war type VIICs are?

Is this what you're talking about?

If so, it's the FuMO 29 radar. (Picture from uboat.net)

Weirdisms:

1) When you come back to SH3 after a visit to the loo, sit down and the sub is where you left it, cruising along at flank, on the surface, heading west away from Gibraltar. It's on the external cam and the four guys you left on the bridge are still there.

And then you notice that they're not looking through their bin's. Instead, they're all doing this silly Kate Winslet "I'm flying thing" with their arms stretched out to their sides.

Then the moment I move the camera in so I can try and get a screen shot, they put thehir arms down, pick up their bin's and then get looking for ships again.?

WTF x25

2) When you cam to the airplane that's spotted you, it's an RAF Hurricane. And then you notice that The Stig is flying it. Every other plane has a pilot wearing 40's style flying gear except for the Hurricane who has The Stig.

Seriously weird! And absolutely true as well.

Yes that was it. Uboat.net says it was installed on all type 9 uboats as well as three individual others. If I was to get one of these uboats(I think U-156 was one of them)would it be installed? Have the game desighners modelled the fits of individual historic boats?
