So, whilst extracting new mods the other day, I must have accidentally removed the GME's configuration file, because it labeled all my mods as disabled. So I did a complete clean reinstall of Silent Hunter 4 and U-Boat missions, and re-enabled my mods in order. Now, upon reloading my game, the availability of boat upgrades is drastically different from when I left it.
I remember having this issue when loading a game that had been played before installing TMO, but I don't understand why the same would apply with a career that had only ever been played with the list of mods I currently have activated...Does anyone know what the cause of this might be? I'm sure my mod activation priority is right; the only mod that should affect upgrades is the base TMO itself anyway. Is there any way to "refresh" the upgrades list? Just going through a patrol? Or will I have to start a new campaign? I'd rather not have to do the latter; I had just been awarded a shiny new Gato class. >: Granted, it may not be -that- big of a deal, but the problem is I don't know what else may not have been restored to the way it should be in TMO. |

I'm not entirely sure what your trying to convey, but I suspect the "answer" is that a game started in vanilla, and a game started in TMO, are VERY different. When you start a game, the program keeps a local copy of just about everything saveable as it pertains to your submarine, in your mydocuments save game. Changes made to the programs resources via a mod, won't always show in a game in progress because of this.

Well, a similiar thing just happened to me. Finished a patrol in Feb '43, got excited about Mk27 (even tough I don't wanted to use it), loaded up 2 Mk27, handed out promotions and medals, saved the game and left.
Came back, loaded the savegame and well, now I have all torpedos available and all other upgrades (radar, decoys etc). I then decided to load the autosave and got the same problem. Any idea of what to do? I would prefer not to start a new campaign since I managed to sink an Ise BB and well, I'm pretty happy about that. I didn't touch JSME in the meantime or did anything else SH4 related... just left to windows and loaded later on. |
