Default Odd recorded (in Aribic) phone messages. Anyone else?

Okay a family I know whose son is in the service in a special operations branch have recieved some recorded messages.

The messages are in Aribic or Farsi and the content is un known. The tone and tenor is pretty aggressive.

It may be just a fluke but so far they have recived the message at their home phone, the fathers cell phone, the sons cell phone (who was uhhh out of the country).

They contacted Homeland Security whom promptly told them they couldent do anything without a number (number was blocked).

I would like to know if anyone else has recieved such a call.

What cheap excuse is that? They are supposed to investigate such things, aren't they? Maybe that family should record the date and time of those calls and contact their phone service provider to get details from where the calls came.

Honestly, it sounds to me like it's most likely to just be a prank.

I would pass it off as a prank as well except that nearly all members of this family recieved the same call. Thats a little too much coincidence.

As to what it said .. no freakin idea its in Farsi which they dont speak.

Unfortunatly none of them 'recorded' the call.

I'm gonna go with prank...

Honestly always had a want to learn a bit of Arabic then wear a turban and walk around an Airport... it would no doubt be hilarious.

Whilst in Iraq we were advised that although we had cell phone signal that the local's who work for the providing company that they could find out numbers that had been called, and may pass it on to third parties who would then phone *home* and tell whoever answers that their son is dead/injured/an infidel causing upset and distress, even when they find out it's a hoax.

But doing that in Farsi?? Kind of pointless.
