Default Questions about the 'all weather guns' & 'extra ammo' mods

I just got these 2 mods as they may add to the realism more,as Uboats were STILL able to use the gun in bad weather,albeit with difficulty.Does this mod allow you to fire even in the highest waves?,and does it simulate the increased difficulty with pitching in rough seas?.Also,where does the file go?
About the extra ammo mod,how much is extra?and how much did real UBoats usually carry?

Thanks.

If you use rough weather guns your crew will not have rain gear in rough weather.

I have never ran out of ammo with the ammo mod so I don't know.

Both those mods are mine I believe Paul.

All weather mod will allow you to fire the deck gun in ANY weather and come with the resulting difficulties of an unsteady platform etc.

The ammo mod gives you 250 shells for either deckgun (88mm and 1o5mm) and 3/400 20mm.

Both mods are meant to be enabled via JSGME.

There is a report of one Type IX carrying 377 105mm rounds but I can't quote the source atm.

Can I use all weather and addtnl ammo mods in SH3 stock (I mean patched)? Without any mod it seems that the seas are most of the times too heavy to use the guns (deck & AA). Damn it!
Any advise, please!

I'm pretty sure the All Weather Guns mod will overwrite an entire file which might be a problem since the file you'd end up with might have other things in it that worked with GWX but not with the stock game.

However IIRC it's only one line in the relevant file that needs to be edited to give you access to your guns in all weather, I don't have access to my game files right now so I can't provide exact details - sorry. Nevertheless there are plenty of folks here who will know where and what to edit, if nobody else chimes in I can look it up when I'm at home this evening.

Both mods were developed for GWX but may work in stock...I can't honestly say for sure because they were never tested on a stock installation.

To allow all weather firing go to:

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Submarine\NSS_U boat7c (or whichever sub your playing) open the CFG file and change the coloured value on the line below.

StormConditions=99,1;max wind speed [m/s], max rain intensity [0,1]

For additional ammo you need to go to:

C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Cfg...open the Basic CFG and change the coloured values on the lines below.

[SUBMARINE_AMMOLIMITS1] ;105mm
MaxAmmoPerSlot=250
[SUBMARINE_AMMOLIMITS2] ;88mm
MaxAmmoPerSlot=250

[SUBMARINE_AMMOLIMITS4] ;20mm

Thank you very much, JB! The good news is that I decided first to try if ypur mods for GWX 3 work. And they did!!!!
My next ptrl on a Mediterranean campaign was just perfect to test it. Heavy weather, hard to set my fishes on target, so I save them by deck gunning small Me and finishing off large ones after being torpedoed!
Long live these mods!!!! The stock game makes almost impossible to use the deck gun only if the sea is a peaceful lake.
I knew about those mods since I'm running a campaign under the 2nd Flotilla too on GWX 3.
Good hunting and good luck,
Cheers,
rea00cy
