Default United Parcel Service cargo plane with a fire raging.........

......crashed near Dubai in the United Arab Emirates on Sept. 3, killing both pilots.

Perhaps this was the not so dry run.

I don't understand why they would try sneaking devices through air freight unless they are doing this as a deversion to do something else, sure you can bring a cargo plane down, but where's the fear factor in that unless you can get the wreckage to cause mass carninage, I guess the Saudi's can't find someone to pay to build a sopesicated enough device too blow at a time it would cause the most damage. The main threat too the U.S is if something comes in through the ports, and of course our borders are a mess we don't know who snook in or how many, thanks to our governments unwillingness too enforce our laws.

We had a UPS plane overshoot the runway here and slammed into a 'forest'.

Amazingly no one was injured but the plane burst into flames and all the cargo was lost.

That was several years ago and had more to do with pilots forgetting to adjust the barometer than terrorisim.

But this is exactly the desired effect. Now every brown truck will be eyed with suspicion

If you really wanted to pork the economy bring these infrastrucures to a halt. You dont even have to blow anything up. In this day of 'abundance of caution' things could slow to a crawl.

Reminds me of an attempt by the honkers to "take down" US infrastructure
they attempted to attack fedex, US mail, UPS etc
And post an "emergency warning" on their sites about how hammas or the ira has slipped "questionable objects" in parcels

That was the most epic fail ever, their american cells were caught very early, and that they attempted to scare people in 2009 with the IRA
(they weren't able to hack any of the sites before getting caught)

Bingo!

Like I said in another thread, they only need to keep up the spectre of a terrorist threat and the government and people will do the rest themselves.
