Deleting saved games

Second question
Can I delete my earlier saved games without loosing all my subsequent ones. In much the same way that later saves are lost after a game is loaded?

Yes, I'm sure you can. And you should clear them out regularly too, IIRC SH3 may have issues with the quantity of saves.
