"Yondah lies da castle of my fahdah."

I always like Tony Curtis. He had a great sense of humor about himself and his career, and despite his own joke about the above line, he was a fine actor.

A good long life, and we'll miss him. All hail The Great Leslie!

just found out this little tidbit:

Quote:
During World War II he served in the Navy aboard the submarine tender U.S.S. Proteus. His ship was present in Tokyo Bay for the formal surrender of Japan aboard the U.S.S. Missouri on Sept. 2, 1945, which Signalman Schwartz watched through a pair of binoculars. “That was one of the great moments in my life,” he later wrote.

by coincidence, just in the past few months, I saw for the first time "The sweet smell of success" and "The defiant ones", both great movies.

Shame.. I liked Tony as well.

He also produced a pretty talented daughter too.

85... sigh... I feel just a little bit older now.

Tony Curtis was one of my mother's favorite actors. He'll be missed.
