Default It really was true (Bad weather)

Not long ago I was watching a show on the military channel called (battle of the atlantic)

It was kind of cool, but one thing that I remembered was a merchantman saying how during REALLY BAD WEATHER, they could see a u-boat not 200 yards from them and they wouldn't even be scared or worry, same went for the U-boat, they couldn't do anything.. in terrible weather everyone was just trying to survive.. I am in the middle of my 10th patrol and its operation drumbeat, I am down to 25% fuel and by this point I would of sunk at least 2-3 merchant ships.. I saw a couple, fired/wasted about 4-6 eels and i'm either too deep or too shallow and it bounces off.. Visibility is about 150 meters.., so I don't even see the target..

This entire patrol (October) is a waste.. I'm on my way back to France and I will be lucky to just get there, let alone get some tons.. I am pretty badly damaged as well. A destroyer came out of no where and hit me hard..

we shall see.. U-07 out!

With bad visibility it is almost impossible to identify the nationality of the target. So I think there is some truth in the documentary.

In game I did attack targets with visibily <150m using hydrophone only. But it is a gamble because you don't know the nationality or the type of ship.

Many times bad weather can benefit you, it's not nearly as negative,so use your hydrophone and listen and you will get results

When I run the game in low visibility with the weather generator it seems my view is a bit farther out than just 150 m am I missing a weather mod here or somethin??

On my current patrol, I actually managed to get inside a convoy during bad weather and sink 2 large merchants, before outstaying my welcome and had to leave rather quickly.

yeah.. destroyers dont like it when you sink the merchants their protecting makes them look bad. then they take it out on you. and you sink. then as you sink your crew takes it out on you for getting them killed. so not only do you die a horrible death by the hands of your own men. but your body is crushed to a pulp afterwords.. baad day at the office

If you know what you're shooting at. And if you hit it, but it doesn't stop on the spot, how are you ever going to find it again?
