Lossing Renown

I just started playing SH3 again and this time I downloaded the Grey Wolves 3.0 mod (which is awesome). I've just done 3 patrols and I started the game with 1500 renown and after 2 successful patrols (the 2nd and 3rd patrol) my renown is at 1454... I've never had this happen when I used to play.

What really irritates me about this is I'm hoping to have enough renown to upgrade to a type VII boat so I can have longer cruises with additional torpedoes.
