Default Eden POW Camp

I've been meaning to post these for a few months now but never got around to it.

I did a favour for a local community transport company in June this year and drove a busload of elderly gentlemen for a day outing to Eden Camp in Malton, North Yorkshire.

http://www.edencamp.co.uk/index.html

As I recall the camp was used to intern Italian POW's during WWII

My reward....free entry plus a £5 food and drink voucher for the driver and most importantly, seeing the looks on some of those gentlemens faces as they beamed with pride as they reminisced with each other during the visit

In no particular order:

The Spitfire is just one beautiful aircraft. Next to the P-40 the Spitfire has the best lines I have ever seen. I have seen a Supermarine Spit fly. What a machine. That crocodile is very cool looking. The half-track looks brand new. Thanks for sharing Jim.

I'm still sorting the photos but you will see a small variety of underwater chariots and a T-34/85 as well as a V-1 amongst other gear shortly.

There wasn't a lot outdoors and quite a bit of what was looked like it needed a bit of TLC...most of the exhibits were in huts showing different themes etc.

Given the age and being in the elements each pieces looks good. This is from a guy who has worked on a WW2 submarine that still floats in the bay! She looks good for her age and being in the elements. My view is a bit skewed!
