Default Soldiers' 'blast pants' tested at firing range

Wonder if these will help in a "domestic" situation

LOL! Those aren't so much about protection as they are about quick release!

Could come in handy when fighting a rearguard action

You tax dollars at work. What happened to just sitting on your helmet or an extra flack jacket?

Thats hard to do when your walkin down the road looking for IEDs.

Evidently those that do such things have figured out how to make the IEDs blast you in the balls.

I dunno but a little more protection never really hurts. Better than tossing my tax dollars to send an Imam on a junket.

I can just imagine the trauma getting hit with a 7.62 round in the nuts. Yeah the Kevlar unmentionables will stop the bullet, but some kinetic energy will still pass through . Anyone who has been shot while wearing a vest can testify that it still hurts.

I expect this will work well for secondary frag, but we already have armoured bibs for the naughty bits.

And have they considered the "chafing" issue with Kevlar grundies?
