You must be worthy to be able to read that.
![]() Ok ok, recently they started to digitalise war diaries for all the divisions and regiments that fought in the Winter War and now they have uploaded 3000+ diaries to the site I linked. But as they are all in finnish, I made the thread finnish as they are little use for anyone who doesnt understand finnish. |

Thanks, interesting stuff. There is still plenty to learn about the war, from the little everyday things to the bigger political aspects.

Teemu, diaries are the best reading! Any chance these might be uploaded in English?

Majority seems to be typed. It's possible to transform scanned typed text into text files pretty quickly. Been there done that.
Not saying I'm going to transform these texts though. I'd suggest you learn basics of Finnish, most of the entries are stuff like "Morning tea", "Pointing artillery eastward", "Shooting", "Going to sleep" etc. ![]() |

We had morning tea when I was in the service. It's more like a breakfast but it's called morning tea. Unless you're in a guerilla unit and in the bush, then your morning tea will be the funny colored water from a near-by ditch. Just add water purification pills and shake.
