How do you turn on the radar?

Can someone tell me how to run on the radar, the switch lights up but now matter where I Left clik it will not turn on. Help

Your boat probably doesn't have it. If you only have air search, you can't use the radar in the interior.

Check your on board equipment. Like Nisgeis said, you probably do not yet have radar installed.

Just to clarify the last two responses.

SH4 always shows the radar station for surface search BUT it will not operate until it is installed from port (i.e. you get enough renown to buy it and put it in your sub). It's an oversight from the original game, the station is there but you can't do anything with it until you 'buy' the radar and install it.

Your air search radar is always on (except when underwater) and does NOT have a station you can go to. The reports from there are automatic and AI produced.

A further point about surface search radar. When you do well and you are offered a new boat, despite the fact that you had surface search radar in your old boat, you won't have it in the new boat. I'm currently struggling with this situation now. I've "bought" the SJ radar again and again while in port but when I depart it is not on my sub (i.e. I can't use it). VERY annoying.
