Playing RFB 2 with latest patch and the RSRDC installed.
Two questions please for those in the know. 1. How far do the torpedoes need to run to arm. Have sneeked into harbour got close and then watch the torpedoes bounce off even with no duds selected. Can only assume I am inside the arming distance ? Is this correct. 2 On the map zoomed in to the attack plot i just get my sub. Why i am I not seeing the silloettes of the eneemy ships. I have "no map contact update" turned off. Thanks |

I (think) the arming distance for torpedoes is about 400yds early war and 350yds after mid 1943. As far as the map contact updates, if you're saying that you have them turned off, well, that's why you have no updates. If they are turned on and you still have no updates, I believe there is a mod available that restores the sonar lines in RFB 2.0, though I don't have the link at this moment. I hope this helps some. You won't actually see the ships until you have radar and, even then, I don't remember if they even show up in RFB.

i also use RFB 2.0 from time to time.
1.if i remember right, just "mouse over" the torps in torpedo management screen (default="t" key) and you get the details according to type, including the arming distance. 2.are the contact's locked in periscope view when you're browsing the maps? i think that's what you mean. |
