Lifeguard missions in TMO

Noticed I never get assigned lifeguard duty even later in war in TMO.Do you have to be in one of the special ops flotillas or were these missions done away with?

You have to be in the right place at the right time, and send a status report to get the mission assigned to you dynamically while on patrol.

cool, happen to know any places where should be or use history as a guide?, for example if near Truk in Jan or Feb 44, would get assigned lifeguard at Truk?

Quick question:

Want to make some changes to the Japharbortraffic.mis file.Just need to know if should open and save it as a random layer or ?

also, an FYI, not sure if you know and/or care or not but its just a minor thing, the aft TBT is missing on the later war Tambor conning tower, just the support is there no TBT.Started a career in Jan 1944 out of Pearl with Tambor class, so could check out sofu gan since did new install of SH 4.

Sure i've mentioned this but really enjoying TMO 2.0, great work as usual.

I still pick up tons of pilots but not in missions. Find them a lot in the slot. Also find a ton of them near Rabaul, but most are US pilots that crash in the mountains and eventually they make it out to sea.

Course I only know of one actual mission with TMORSRD that I pick up pilots in the Solomons in the slot. Funny, you get there and get the usual wait 4 hours and then a large DD group comes just as you can pick them up, then another group, then a third group. Had over 30 DD's hunting me down.

What a cruel joke.
