Grammaphone Whacked

Any ideas appreciated....

I have a new installation 1.4b. I've done nothing...repreat... nothing to the Grammophone....except...add 22 .ogg files of Charlie's Orchestra propaganda music to the Music Folder.

I've been using these .ogg files since a few days after SHIII initial release way back when. Never had a problem with the grammaphone before. Turned it on, it played a rotation of all the files in the music folder, got tired of it, turned it off.

Now I turn it on and it plays a theme music file, then a speech in German file, then it goes back to the theme music and the speech.

I'm clueless as to why it will only play these two files and will not select any of the others in the rotation.

Could it be that you also have mp3 files in there. Iirc the game can't handle the 2 audio file types simultaneously. Or maybe it can, but not as well. Either add them all as Ogg or all as MP3.

Or maybe they ended up in the wrong part of the folderstructure. Did you add it with JSGME?

[EDIT] The last is probably the cause. It should go into: C:\Games\SilentHunter3\data\Sound\Gramophone

Not into the music folder!

.....man you are absolutely right. They go into the directly into the grammaphone folder and not the Music folder.

Many thanks.

Thats what happens when one relies on memory and doesn't bother to double check.........but I was so certain it was the Music folder.

Plus a reminder of where they go
