Default WWII Port Scenery - Tanks, flak guns etc

hey guys just curious to know if anyone has thought up adding
more accurate scenery.. the ports in sh5 are ghost towns now
so whats up with that?

I do remember hearing band music but what happened to all the
people walking around near buildings?

I am guessing that anything taking up extra FPS was yanked out
but cant be sertain why scenery placement models where over looked.

Any rate I have a library full of Low Poly Well Textured 3D Models I
made quite a long time ago for the game scorched 3D that are just
collecting dust!

If any of you are interested in porting them to sh5 ((feel free))
with my blessings.

Here are quite a few *Low Poly* models each with skin variations
I would like to see around ports, or even on ship transports, or
sailors walking around or just sitting on which would make any port
look more occupied without the triangle side effects.

here are some screenys:

Flakpanzer IV Möbelwagen
poly count: 1408 triangles
2 different skin variations!

Panzerkampfwagen III (pz-3g)
poly count: 1312 triangles
3 different skin variations!

pz-VI Tiger
poly count: 1386 Triangles
4 different skin variations!

you can browse threw all of them & Download Individually
they are in milkshape3d.txt format but can easily be converted to
.3ds or .obj etc

my WWII models are here:

Maybe too much low-poly...may need a touch due to the new detail level.

Scene polygon count was increased
- A large harbor with U-boats and ships present will have around 3.5 million polygons
Ship polygon count was increased:
- Civilian ships - around 25k polygons
- Small and medium warships – 27-30k polygons
- Large warships – 45k-60k polygons

Just wipping out a large-warship frome a scene could let us having an impressive Cityscape (including buildings, dmg models, ambient objects and people) having a max of 60.000 total polygons.

this low poly but good looking content save frames, this is much more important in my opinion, take also in account that populating a harbor with this, need many of this objects...

by the way, good looking low poly content is expencive.

HanSolo78 is working on the good old band at port from sh-3. Allthought he currently has taken a break from his work. Also why would we wanna see tanks in port? Its not vert commen to see tanks in port in WWII. Flak tanks ok but tiger tanks? How about trucks? Much more commen in port. And yes the port need a lot more people moving about port then just the pens.

I was thinking more along the lines of cargo variants for the German merchant ships
as far as the tanks go..also the link posted takes you to 2 pages of assorted tanks BTW
not just German but also Russian, US, so now theres more options to choose for
cargo tanks rather then just 2 that came with stock sh4

I don't see why they also couldn't be randomly placed as objects
in cities near the coast or near the channel? just for the sake of feeling
more occupied / eye candy like the motorcycle?

we have bf109's flying around that serve no purpose after all
so why not tigers?

couldn't hurt considering they don't take up much space & fun to look @

flak emplacements were common near cities & ports

use them or don't the choice is up to the individual i guess
just thought I would try to give *something*
