Chugging home off the coast of France, May 40. Crew sights an "S type" sub at 8300 to starboard. I can't see it, but turn away to give zero profile. Heavy seas, but broad daylight.
Suddenly my damage board lights up like a Christmas tree. I did a fast look, and that was the only thing around. I got the boat down to P-depth, and it all fixed fast enough. No crew hits. But from an S-boat at 8300? That's over the horizon for a U-boat, so that's some mad magic.
