Default Geometric bearing only TMA solution

Just found this in the SH5 section:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=170671

It describes a semi-stationary case as wel as a continuously moving case.

Too bad the SC/DW interface doesn't lend itself for drawing lines. I guess Mobo is best for this.

You do realise that you can do the exact same thing in DW by using 2 legs and at most 6 bearing lines if you time your course change correctly ?
Easier done than said.

Yes, I do. I guess it's not so impressive since we have the dot stack to our disposal. It is still cool to know how it is done formaly in mathematics though. But I guess that doesn't apply to all.

Yes the purely geometrical method is interesting, although its direct utility in DW is somewhat dubious. Tma in DW is much much easier to do (passive tracking), even with all its limitations to doing the same thing in SH 3/4/5.

A perfect dot stack alignment in DW is no guarantee that the solution you obtain is the correct one. You still have to eliminate all "non solutions" that give a dot stack alignment.

But this is also true IRL, so I applaud the fact.
