I am having some problems with a missing .dds file when trying to run TMaru7z. I have extracted the mod to and used JSMEG to install it over my original TMaru (1.5 ?) after first removing this with JSMEG. The sim runs up to the opening screen and then stops before completely loading with a message to the efect that a file, strategicred.dds cannot be found in data/menu/gui folder. I have done a search using the Windows search machine but get a nil return. I have then looked physically through all ? the folders etc. but also with no result. Following some advice I removed the update mod, reinstalled the 1.5 mod and completed my mission. Then removed the 1.5 mod, reinstalled the update mod and guess what, same, same. No strategicred.dds file. Could someone please help me with this one, if necessary sending me the ####### .dds file.

strategicred.dds is a stock game file, it should have been in Data/Menu/Gui folder. TMO may change it, but if it is missing you may want to consider a reinstall of the game, something caused it to get deleted. If you did a snapshot of your game files with JSGME when you first installed it, you may want to go to Tasks and "Compare game files with snapshot". That will let you know if you have any other problems. Edit: I think I misread your post. You are installing TMO 1.5? I misread it and thought the file was missing in SH4 version 1.5. Peabody

Have solved the problem by a little 'cheating'
![]() (1kbt) .dds file, renamed it strategicred.dds and placed it in the data/menu/gui folder. Loaded Tmaru but once again got e failed load this time with strategicblue.dds not being founf. Back to the drawing board but this time copied the red.dds file and renamed it strategicblue.dds. Loaded TMaru once more and this time everything went just fine. As I said before, I have no idea what these two files are for, maybe I shall find out somewhere along the line. I think after consideration that I will do a search again for the 'missing' file/s and correct the situation properly but in the meantime I will just plod on until I get the 'Gold' edition and TMar Update for the 1.5 patch. Many thanks to those who have offered suggestions and help, consider, at least for me that this thread can be considered closed. ![]() ![]() |

1.9 is far superior. You maight want to give it a shot (no pun intineded). I incorporate it with RSRDC and several mods including Max Optics 4, SMMO, and SCAF for for TMO1.9, among others. It is quite difficult and rarely is an attack run against a warship or convoy accompanied by dds easy, but its lots of fun.
If you install the Midway start mod, you lose the mission start dates introduced by RSRDC on your menu choices, at least in my case I did. Last edited by I'm goin' down; 06-01-10 at 10:52 AM. |
