Default Due Up... Alaskan Bush Pilot Photography

I may have shared this here before, or maybe i never did... but its worth a re-post.

Shaun Lunt was an anesthesiologist in California who would take long vacations in his Piper Super Cub flying up the coast of California linking up with friends in Washington State and continuing their adventure into the wilderness of Alaska.

During his adventures, where more often than not... it was Sean, his airplane, a sleeping bag and a rifle; he took hundreds of photographs and shared them on his online blog.

Sadly, while circling a subject on a beach, Sean became so engrossed in sharing his passion through capturing the photograph, that his airplane stalled mid turn at low altitude and entered a spin as has happened to many many other pilots before him. He was killed on impact.

Please take some time to enjoy Shaun's work located at the link below.

Stall + Mid turn + Low altitude = bad thing.

At least his work will live on. That's a sad thing though.

Beautiful photographs

Indeed a very tragic loss, but from these pictures it seems that he's had a great life

Some great shots.
To bad it had to end like this. In German those circles around certain targets are called "Besucherkurven" or visitor curves, as they are often used to circle around a certain building in which one of the plane occupants lives or has relatives/friends etc. .
They are among the more dangerous manoeuvres to do in an aircraft as one is also usually going pretty slow and low at that time.
