When playing the campaign, I decided to take the option of going to the Med. Before entering the Straits I spied an Aircraft carrier which I wasted torpedoes on, but managed to set fire to and then continued through the straits. They knew I was there and I suffered much ending up with 8% hull intergrity on getting through. Not much I could do with that, so left it.

But AI was really heavy with more than 20 destroyers hovering around me towards the end! Think we were probably all brain damaged by all that CO2.

Still the fact that I got through was cool. Unfortunately there were no repair facilites there. Would have thought the Italians would have had something.

I keep meaning to try to get through, but I'm too chicken.

I've played the single player missions for it, and never did well at all. heh

I tried it in stock and had no real problems (in campaign (1940) and the single mission)

However I've yet to try it with Feared Hunters, U-boat Killer AI and Elite Campaign (Haven't tried Historical U-boat Specs) yet.

Yeah it was the same in sh-3. I guess they think its not of historical importance to give us the option to run the straights ourselves. But for the other posters here. Do you mean you were not zapped to the med and had to make the journey yourselves?

Well it´s possible go through, i don´t know in silent hunter V, but in sh3 with GW i managed to enter with a IX-B boat and return to the Atlantic without problems. and IX is a really big boat to operate .

With a VII could be easier ( smaller siluette surfaced )

I did. I ended up in Toulon, hoping for some sort of repair, but there was no repair facility.
